Star had specific reasons for rejecting Arsenal and Chelsea’s moves this summer

Arsenal and Chelsea both were rejected as options by the prolific striker in the summer transfer window and the player’s reasoning has now been revealed.

Mikel Arteta’s side were expected to sign a new goalkeeper this summer and were linked with a number of options, including Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic.

Chelsea were also active in the hunt to add to their attacking options under Enzo Maresca.

Serhou Guirassy was one player who was in high demand during the summer transfer window, after scoring 28 league goals last season for Stuttgart.

Several clubs across Europe were interested in the 28-year-old but in the end, Nuri Sahin’s Borussia Dortmund team got hold of him.

Guirassy could have ended up in the Premier League, but he carefully considered his options and was not keen Arsenal or Chelsea.

According to German magazine Sport Bild (via Soccer Transfers), Guirassy denied Chelsea because he was not very happy with what he saw as their wild and unpredictable migration policy.

When it came to Arsenalthe striker believed that Mikel Arteta’s preferred style of play at the Emirates Stadium just didn’t suit him.

The two London clubs failed to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window after missing out on the current man at Borussia Dortmund.

He has been finding the back of the net regularly at his new home too, with seven goals in just nine outings in all competitions so far this term.
