Campbell wants Ramsey back
Speaking after their Baku show, Gunners legend Sol Campbell suggested that Ramsey “could take a little return to North London” to explore the possibility of returning to his old club.
Campbell told talkSPORT: “Aaron Ramsey has incredible runs. The times are perfect, it’s incredible. It has the ability to enter there.
“You need those players who can get in there. You need those guys who can smell, ‘something is opening up here’.
“Turkey was playing three in the back, so Ramsey was waiting for that hole and [Gareth] Bale found him for the first goal. He’s very smart with those races.
“He’s been working hard, he’s doing great races. He is a first-class player. Maybe it’s in the window!
“I could go back to North London a bit and see what’s going on at Arsenal, you never know.”
At this stage, it’s unclear whether Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta would be prepared to give Ramsey a lifeline.
However, the Gunners boss is looking to improve his midfield. And there’s no question that a scoring midfielder of Ramsey’s quality may be too good to turn down.
