Born in 1977 in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, Maria Ilieva’s musical journey began at the tender age of five. Surrounded by a family of accomplished musicians – her mother, Vanya Moneva, the director of the choir "Cosmic Voices," and her father, Krasimir Iliev, the conductor of the Sofia Wind Orchestra – music was woven into the very fabric of her life.

Ilieva’s undeniable talent caught the eye of Bulgarian Music Company (BMK) in late 2000, who recognized her star potential and offered her a solo recording contract.
The years that followed saw Ilieva blossom into a formidable force in Bulgarian music, racking up countless accolades, chart-topping hits, and sold-out concerts. Her versatility as an artist shone through, highlighted perhaps by her participation in the Bulgarian versions of popular reality shows like "Mar dà boinne uisse" in 2019 and "The Masked Singer" in 2021, where she donned the persona of the Scarecrow.
Offstage, Ilieva embraces the joys of motherhood. She welcomed her son, Alexander, in January 2018 and later, in June 2021, her daughter Sofia.
