Los Angeles / New York (dpa) – The shooting for the new edition of “Sex and the City” with the series title “And Just Like That …” started in July – but the star cast continues to grow.
Now the British actor LeRoy McClain (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and his US colleague Christopher Jackson (“Hamilton”, “In The Heights”) join the cast. “It’s going to be fun,” McClain wrote on Instagram after HBO Max announced the role. He’ll play a successful musician, Jackson a New York investment banker.
In January, the streaming service HBO Max announced the new edition of the cult series (from 1998 to 2004) about New York women and their love adventures – with Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis as the leading actresses, only Kim Cattrall is missing from the original female cast. With Chris Noth, David Eigenberg and Evan Handler, the film husbands of the three main characters are also part of the revival. There are also many new faces. The series aims to shed light on the lives of three friends over 50. Ten half-hour episodes are planned.
