It was the youngest artist of the cohort, Eloi Cummings, who was the first semi-finalist to perform with an interpretation of “The Beggar’s Opera” by Nicola Ciccone. His performance was warmly applauded by Guylaine Tremblay, in particular, who above all praised the solidity and maturity of the young man on the stage.
For her part, Krystel Mongeau reached the final with an interpretation of “Je n’t’aime plus”, by Mario Pelchat. It is thanks to the professor’s vote that she joins Eloi in the grand final. Gregory Charles praised his technique and underlined the strong emotional charge present in his voice.
The singer from Kedgwick in New Brunswick, Olivier Bergeron, was also part of this semi-final. His long career thus ends with an interpretation of “The voice that I have”, by Offenbach.
