The UWV received 40,000 applications for the STAP training budget in 2.5 hours on Friday. This meant that the entire budget of 34 million euros had been used up at 12:30 p.m. Many people fish behind the net because of this.
The STAP counter opened on Friday at 10 a.m. As with the previous times, there was again a lot of interest. At its peak, there was a queue of 250,000 devices. It is not clear how many candidates were involved. Waiters can stand in the digital queue with multiple devices at the same time.
The UWV reports that some of the applications have already been approved. It is expected that the majority of applicants will be notified within a few days.
The application went a lot better this time than last time. On February 28, there was a technical malfunction in combination with large crowds. The UWV therefore had to close the counter and postpone the application round until today.
The STAP budget is intended to provide you with additional training for your current or future job. A maximum of 1,000 euros per year is available per person. The total budget for this year is 170 million euros. Whoever misses it this time will get another chance on May 1.
