BVActor and director Stany Crets (58) gave his ex Ann Van den Broeck (46) and Helle Vanderheyden (32) the surprise of their lives last night. In a full Proximus Pop-Up Arena in Middelkerke, he asked the two ladies if they would like to take on the roles of ‘Donna’ and ‘Sophie’ in the musical ‘Mamma Mia!’ in 2025.

The musical party ‘One More Night’ in Middelkerke was interrupted last night by Stany Crets who surprised two unsuspecting actresses with the question if they wanted to play in the new ‘Mamma Mia!’ musical that will be shown from 2025. Striking, because Stany and Ann announced last month that they were no longer a couple.
For Ann Van den Broeck it is the second time that she takes on the role of ‘Donna’. Last summer she received a lot of praise for her role. “Yeah! So excited! Happy to the theater and even happier back home. Because Mamma Mia was never just a party in the hall, ”says Ann again. She was also diagnosed with breast cancer at the time and had herself replaced in the matinee performances. “Last summer was a special series for me. I really enjoyed what I still could and was allowed to do, and I am grateful to everyone who was there to support me backstage. This time comes as a gift! I am touched and grateful. I’m going to give everything! But really everything. How am I going to enjoy…”
It is also not the first time for Helle Vanderheyden that she will perform ‘Sophie’. “I hadn’t actually counted on this. “Mamma Mia!” is the most fun show I’ve ever done, and I’ve incredibly enjoyed the times I got to play Sophie. Now being asked to play that role again is a real gift.”
