Stanstead renews its “welcome policy”

FINANCIAL AID. The Town of Stanstead has just announced the renewal of its “Welcome Policy” which will remain in effect until 2024.

Established in 2009, this policy has two components, one of which is “access to property”, which grants an amount of $ 1,000 to owners of a first main house in the territory of the municipality.

With the “growing family” component, we offer an amount of $ 100 for the arrival of a child, whether newborn or adopted.

“With the rising cost of real estate and the ever greater challenges for those who want to become homeowners, the City is pleased to be able to offer assistance to eligible new homeowners,” said Stanstead’s new mayor, Jody Stone. .

A partner in this agreement, the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphrémagog adds an amount to that already granted when the owners have a residential mortgage with the institution or when the parents open a savings account in the child’s name.
