Hardly anyone has been able to avoid the standstill of late. This radical portrait shows what it looks like when standing still becomes a life’s work for an entire generation. The Italian director and writer Elisa Mishto celebrated her feature film debut with “Stillstand” at the Munich Film Festival in 2019. Now the black humor drama starts exclusively on June 17th in online cinema. You can find the direct link here alleskino.de. After the reopening, the film will also be shown in the cinemas.
This is what “standing still” is all about
In an almost radical act, Juli (Natalia Belitski) has dedicated herself to doing nothing – and she tries to defend this with all her might. Neither social expectations nor work or performance pressure can induce them to take action. In order to be able to continue this immobile existence, she is regularly admitted to a psychiatric clinic. The consistently rebellious lifestyle is made possible, among other things, by their wealthy inheritance. However, when this is used up and the new supervisor Agnes (Luisa-Céline Gaffron) appears, who does not leave her side, July is suddenly forced to act if she wants to continue as before.
In addition to the leading roles Natalia Belitski and newcomer Luisa-Céline Gaffron, Katharina Schüttler, Martin Wuttke, Leslie Malton and Jürgen Vogel play in the German-Italian production. Further information is also available on the Film-Website and if you want to be inspired by the trailer, you can see it here on the page:
