Standby One and Greater Bandung Red Light for DKI Tourists

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Bandung Raya officially designated as a standby area due to the surge in cases of the corona virus (covid-19) which has occurred in recent weeks. West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil further instructed that during the next week no tourists from outside the area, especially DKI Jakarta enter the Greater Bandung area.

“Especially for tourism, which is always busy in West Bandung Regency and Bandung Regency, I urge tourists, who are usually the majority from DKI, to ask us not to come for the next seven days,” said the man who is familiarly called Emil at Makodam III Siliwangi, Bandung City. , Tuesday (15/6).

Emil assessed that efforts to limit the arrival of residents from outside the area needed to be carried out considering that Bandung and West Bandung Regencies were categorized as red zone areas, aka areas with a high risk of corona virus transmission in the past week.

In addition to the red zone, the Greater Bandung area which includes Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency, Bandung City, Cimahi City, and Sumedang Regency, the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) is at 84.19 percent, or exceeds the standard threshold. safe from the World Health Organization (WHO) by 60 percent.

For this reason, with the enactment of this one alert status in the greater Bandung area, companies and workers must implement the Work From Home (WFH) policy and are obliged to suppress tourist arrivals from outside the region for the next week.

“Therefore, with two indicators, namely the red zone and 84.19 percent occupancy, the entire Greater Bandung is instructed to work from home physically only 25 percent according to the instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs, 75 percent immediately adjust to work from home with the exception of “Exceptions which of course we already understand,” he said.

Furthermore, the former mayor of Bandung also suggested that the central government not give a long holiday for the upcoming Eid al-Adha. He is worried that the impact of the long holiday will worsen the COVID-19 pandemic in West Java.

Emil further requested that all parties be able to understand the current situation in the West Java region. According to him, the government and related agencies are currently focusing on tackling the spike in Covid-19 cases

“Please no further long holidays during Eid al-Adha so that Eid al-Adha worship is given juklak (implementation instructions) according to the mandatory Shari’a, but not holidays because it is proven that the Eid homecoming holiday is truly destructive in good control during Micro PPKM,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, daily data released through the West Java Covid-19 Information and Coordination Center (Pikobar) website as of Tuesday (15/6) at 20.30 WIB recorded that there were 1,532 new COVID-19 cases added. Meanwhile, for recovered cases, there were an additional 1,753 cases, and 16 new cases died.

So that cumulatively, as many as 330,472 people have tested positive for the corona virus. Of that number, 303,398 people have recovered, 22,634 are undergoing treatment in hospital and self-isolation, while 4,440 others have died.
