Standard won 2-1 against Club Brugge on Sunday. A nice boost for the team of trainer Carl Hoefkens.
It took blood, sweat and tears, but Standard did manage to beat ex-coach Ronny Deila’s Club Brugge at Sclessin.
Analyst Alexandre Teklak thinks that Carl Hoefkens is far too picky, as he concluded afterwards from the reactions of the Standard trainer.
“He seemed to say that he was not happy with the way Standard won,” said La Dernière Heure at Teklak. “This is a bit of a disrespect to a great result. You cannot be dominant against this Bruges. You have to be smart.”
According to Teklak, the people from Liège played like a rock with a big heart and could count on some standouts such as Kanga. Teklak also sees many similarities with Charleroi, which feels unity in its team through the victories.
Although Standard faces a much more difficult assignment after the international break. “Standard cannot fall into a trap against Anderlecht. Riemer’s troops will be much more careful and will not play like Club Brugge did.”
