/ world today news/ The international rating agency Standard & Poor`s (S&P) on Tuesday raised by two notches the long-term credit rating in local and foreign currency of Greece to “CCC +” from “CCC-” with a stable outlook, it said in a message of the agency.
In addition, S & P affirmed the country’s short-term credit rating in foreign and local currency at level “C” with a stable outlook.
“The upgrade of Greece’s credit rating reflects the improved outlook for liquidity in Greece following last week’s agreement … on a three-year program, through the ESM mechanism, together with a bridge loan of 7.16 billion euros for a period of three months, which the government is using for repayment of overdue debts to the IMF, and the Central Bank of Greece – for payments to the European Central Bank,” the announcement said. /AFP
