Recently, it became known an unreasonably poorly cast version of Super Mario will be filmed and none other than Seth Rogen will star in the film as Donkey Kong. However, this does not seem to be Nintendo’s only movie plans as the gaming giant also wants to make a separate movie with Donkey Kong in the lead. This is also expected to be done by Illumination.
According to GiantFreakinRobot, more members of the Kong family will also take part in the film, such as Cranky Kong, which is expected to be played by Fred Armisen.
As usual, it may be worth saying that this rumor should be taken with a pinch of salt, just like any other rumor. In 2023, the Super Mario movie will premiere and depending on how it goes for that roll, we will find out if Donkey Kong will get its own movie or not.
