Stampeding Horses Cause Chaos in London: Two Seriously Injured

Two of the five horses that crashed in London yesterday were seriously injured. The British Defense Minister, Cartlidge, says that the situation of the black Visitor and the white Vida is a cause for concern. Images of their crazy trip showed Vida bleeding heavily.

It happened yesterday during the morning hours at the exercise of the Household Cavalry, Buckingham Palace’s ceremonial guard. During an exercise in the Belgravia area, the animals were surprised when debris fell on a construction site. Of the seven horses that took fright, five and four bolts were raised.

Of the four riders who were thrown from their horses in the incident, three had to go to hospital. Two people spent the night there, although according to the defense minister the injuries were not too serious. A cyclist was also injured on the journey from Buckingham Palace to East London.

During the 5 miles that the animals ran through London, they damaged several vehicles. A taxi van suffered a large dent, and a window was smashed on a double-decker bus. Last night the animals underwent surgery for the injuries they suffered.

“Three of them are doing well, unfortunately the other two are seriously injured,” explained Minister Cartlidge. “We are of course keeping a close eye on their condition.” He did not say what exactly was wrong with the animals.

Cartlidge confirmed that this is an unusual situation: the guard in London uses 150 animals a day and it almost never goes wrong. The animals are carefully trained for the loud noises and unexpected situations in the busy city.

An anonymous military source from The Sun newspaper says the Vida stallion has caused problems in the past because of his “spirit”. For example, he is said to have kicked a soldier in the head during Charles’ coronation last year.
