The frame rate of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on Xbox Series S was discussed a few months ago. And in a new interview with Windows Central, GSC Game World spoke again on this topic.
According to the developers at GSC, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl currently runs at 30 FPS on Xbox Series S, but they are working hard to bring it up to 60 FPS. Having said that, it is confirmed once again that the Xbox Series X has a 60 FPS mode, but at certain times the frame rate can drop to 55, which happens with most games these days.
On Xbox Series X, the game runs at 60 FPS, but sometimes it can drop to somewhere around 55, but hopefully we can optimize everything before or after release . On Xbox Series S, the frame rate remains at 30 FPS. We were able to achieve 60 FPS in most cases, but they are not as stable as on Series X. However, we are trying to make a performance mode for Xbox Series S to 60 FPS to achieve We think it is possible.
At first, GSC Game World thought it would be impossible to launch Stalker 2 on the Xbox Series S, but once they figured out how to make the best game for the Xbox Series S, things went better than expected. They now believe that any game can be optimized for the S Series – if each developer has enough time and resources to do so.
All in all, this is great news! Even though the Xbox Series S will only launch at 30 FPS, it will be a constant 30 FPS – and there is a chance to reach 60 FPS, if possible. That being said, the Xbox Series X version should be a lot of fun right from the start, and it only looks like it will get better with time!
