Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Release Date Delayed to Q1 2024: Ukraine’s Game Developer GSC Game World Faces Challenges Amidst War with Russia

Ukrainian game developer GSC Game World has again delayed Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The game should now hit the market sometime in the first quarter of 2024. Stalker 2 was originally supposed to be released in April of 2022.

GSC Game World didn’t make an announcement of Stalker 2’s delay, but in a factsheet and the trailer below shows the new release period of Q1 2024. So no reason is mentioned for the delay of the release date, although the invasion of Ukraine by Russia is probably related to this.

Stalker 2, stylized as STALKER 2, was originally supposed to be released in early 2022, but was initially pushed back to the end of that year because the Ukrainian developer needed more time. After the outbreak of the war in question, development was temporarily halted and the game was later postponed further to 2023. In addition to the physical disruption the company is experiencing due to the war, GSC would also be a victim of Russian aggressors on a digital level.
