After the publication of a spectacular trailer for STALKER 2 and another postponement of the release date, it seemed that the developers from the GSC Game World studio would again go into tedious silence. Fortunately, this did not happen; studio representatives began to communicate much more actively with media representatives and share fresh details. This is probably one of the positive signs that the game will be released in September this year. We can only hope that there will be no more transfers, but for now the developers talked a little about the optimization of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
In a conversation with the Chinese publication Gamersky, GSC Game World employees stated that the technical condition of STALKER 2 is the top priority of the entire team. The developers want to achieve a smooth gaming experience and properly optimize many processes in the game to make it playable even on low-power systems. In many ways, it was the goal to achieve good optimization that influenced the postponement of release dates.
The developers of STALKER 2 are not going to announce the final system requirements for the game right now. According to them, they are still actively working on optimization and polishing various aspects. GSC Game World aims to reach 60 FPS on console in performance mode. For PCs, a wide range of settings will be available, which will allow you to run the shooter on weak hardware. The minimum requirements may include a GTX 1060 level video card, since this is the GPU used to run the test build of the game and optimization.
A week ago, GSC Game World shared the game’s atmospheric music. The soundtrack and optimization of STALKER 2 will be available on September 5, 2024 on PC and Xbox.
