The tenth stage of the Tour de France is on the program after the first day off. The start will take place in the mountain resort of Albertville – the site of the 1992 Winter Olympics. Although there are mountains all around, the route stretches between them, thanks to which it has a flat profile.

On Tuesday, there is only one evaluated climb of the 4th category on the Col de Couz (length 7.4 km; slope 2.8%). Less than 25 kilometers later, in the village of La Placette, a speed bonus is also prepared for the fastest riders, to which, paradoxically, a short climb leads.

After the subsequent descent, the road will level out again and it will not change for another about 70 kilometers. The last unrated hill is Rochefort-Samson, on which the wind could play an important role. The only way to get to the finish line in Valencia is to overcome a simple descent and about 15 kilometers along the plain.

It is likely that a group of cyclists will try to escape, so it will be interesting to see how the rest of the peloton will do, but it is clear that one of the “refugees” will be the first to reach the finish line. If that doesn’t happen, the stage laurels will be fought for by the squatters in the mass range.

PETER SAGAN

Peter Sagan will be ahead, his moments could come in the 10th stage, where there is a relatively steep climb less than 40 kilometers before the end. The BORA – hansgrohe team may try to tear up the peloton and remove the sprinters. This stage is similar to the one Peter Sagan won at the Giro d’Italia.
