Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Minister’s Special Staff BUMN Arya Sinulingga regrets the attitude of workers Pertamina In this case, the United Pertamina Workers Union Federation (FSPPB) will take action strike on December 29, 2021 and January 7, 2022.
“Where is the red and white? Where is our pride in the BUMN defending the people? There is no such thing? It’s a shame. We are sad if they do something like that,” said Arya to CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (21/12).
According to him, this action does not need to be carried out because at this time, even the world, is still shrouded in the COVID-19 pandemic. “When they want to get up, they even threaten to strike,” he said.
He respects the rights of employees to strike, but Arya reminds them to stay aware of the limitations of employee rights.
Not only that, Arya assessed that what Pertamina’s labor union demands are not the rights of employees. “Moreover, what is demanded is not their right, demanding that the President Director resign is not their right. As for their rights, the rights of employees are allowed. If the President Director resigns, which is not their right, it’s funny,” he said.
Therefore, Arya also invited the Pertamina employee union to prioritize the interests of the nation and the people by not carrying out a strike.
“Come on, we are in our red and white SOEs, we have to protect this nation, not by strike like that which will harm the people later,” he said.
He also called on all other Pertamina employees not to be easily provoked by parties who want to damage and harm the nation.
Previously, the FSPPB in an official statement stated that it would carry out a strike. The action was judged to be the result of an inharmonious working relationship between the company and its workers, so the workers asked the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir to remove Pertamina’s President Director Nicke Widyawati from his position.
“We hereby notify the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) and the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, that we will carry out a strike,” wrote the Strike Notice, Friday (17/12).
