Staff give ultimatum to Ryanair management | VRT NWS: new

Ryanair’s Belgian staff are on strike for the second consecutive weekend this weekend. As a result, 152 flights – 76 departing and 76 arriving – were canceled at Charleroi airport on Saturday and Sunday. Ryanair’s stewards and flight attendants stationed in Belgium are on strike because the management of the Irish budget flyer refuses to pay the legal minimum wage in our country.

During a general meeting on Saturday in Charleroi, the staff decided to suspend the strikes until the end of January. Until then, management has to submit a proposal, says Christian union secretary Didier Lebbe. If this is not possible, the staff will go on strike two days a month until a solution is found.

According to Lebbe, about 200 employees attended the meeting on Saturday. The staff are “very determined and ready to step up if necessary”, he seems.
