REGION – The municipality of Stadskanaal is currently the largest corona fire in the province of Groningen. This has become known as a result of the current infections on the corona dashboard. Today, 41 infections per 100,000 inhabitants have been reported by the GGD in the municipality of Stadskanaal. That’s 13 infections in the past 24 hours. By way of comparison: In the municipality of Veendam, 4 infections were reported and in the municipality of Borger-Odoorn, 5 infections were reported. In short: a worrying position for the municipality of Stadskanaal.

Yesterday 91 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in Stadskanaal. This means that in 1 day about 16 new infections were added from the municipality. By way of comparison: the municipality of Veendam has 32 out of 100,000 infections. For this municipality, these are approximately 9 new infected persons. The municipality of Borger-Odoorn has received 5 new infections in the past 24 hours. The figures per 100,000 inhabitants here are 19 infections.
In the past week, 193 new infections were reported by the GGD of Stadskanaal.
Malfunction GGD
According to the figures of the RIVM, 29 new cases would have been added yesterday. Due to a malfunction at the GGD in recent days, a number of infections have not been passed on. These are added to today’s figures. RTV1 itself took the figures and calculated.
Mayor at RTV1
This Friday, mayor of the municipality of Stadskanaal, Yvonne van Mastrigt, will join the TV talk show ‘1 op Vrijdag’ that will be broadcast every Friday evening at 7:00 PM on the RTV1 television channel.
