For the fifth time in a row, it was therefore the visitors who won the derby between Stade Français and Racing 92: the Ciel et Blancs won 27-25 in October 2020, 25-9 in November 2019 and 17 -16 in September 2018 in Jean-Bouin; the Roses 27-23 in May 2019 at the Arena.
Racing 92 therefore bowed under the watchful eye of Blues center Gaël Fickou, who recently moved from Stade Français to Racing 92.
Almost passive in the first period, Laurent Travers’ men could not, did not know, to develop their game. The touch, the usual launching pad for the Hauts-de-Seine club, failed. Not to mention the lost balls and eight penalties conceded in the first period.
Racing too clumsy
Unruly, Racing 92 fell on a fit Joris Segonds (9 out of 11 at the foot), which hurt them at least as bad as the mess that led to the test of Jonathan Danty (31st), the first of the match.
The tests of Donnacha Ryan (37th) and Teddy Thomas (45th, 78th) did not change much. No more than the four changes made at half-time by Travers, nor the yellow card from Telusa Veainu (43rd) for a tackle without a ball.
The starters of Le Guen, Colombe, Le Roux and Yanga Mangene instead of Baubigny, Gomes Sa, Jones and Palu, certainly revitalized the Ciel et Blanc for a time, but they quickly fell back into their pitfalls. And the test of Teddy Iribaren (79th) arrived too late.
In a week, Racing will receive Clermont. For its part, the SF which takes 8th place in the standings will move to the field of Brive, with one objective: to confirm its good form.

Stade Français-Racing 92: reactions
Gonzalo Quesada, Stade Français coach
“We had prepared well for this match. We are approaching a series of important matches, which we have prepared well. We worked internally on what is happening on the pitch: the conquest, the game, the defense … we wanted to try to focus on our group, on our state of mind, on our character. It was important. After the match, we talked about the pride, not just to have been able to win in Racing, but also of the content, of what we were able to do on the field, in the game, in the control and in the state of mind. “
Maxime Machenaud, Racing 92 captain
“We could not put our game in place. They took us in conquest, in the areas of rucks … they did not allow us to put the volume of play or to put them in danger. There is also indiscipline, all that makes us come back to the break with twelve points behind. We reacted but too little to win. Qualification is not acquired. We were in a favorable position and there we find ourselves in the fight with many other clubs. There are still four matches, we must be aware of it: we will have to win two, or even three, to be in the six. everyone understands that nothing can be taken for granted. When you wear this jersey, you have to give more “.

Clermont victory… finally!
Other late matches were played this Saturday: Phew! ASM ended a three-game losing streak in all competitions. With this convincing success in front of Brive (37-27), the Jaunards regret the victory at home, the first since February 20.
Better, Clermont consolidates its third place in the standings by taking advantage of the misstep of Racing 92 a little earlier. But Franck Azéma’s men played with fire, conceding two tries in quick succession ten minutes from the end by Jurand (70th) then Tuicuvu (72nd). The Clermontois came out of it but they will have a lot to do next week on the ground of Racing 92, wounded but ambitious beast.
Toulon in pain
After five weeks without playing, the RCT returned to the Top 14 by inflicting a twenty-first consecutive defeat on the red lantern agenaise (32-17). But not necessarily enough to fill up with points and confidence before starting the home stretch.
Because, facing the SUA which has collected 39 points or more in each of its outings since the start of 2021, Charles Ollivon’s teammates had to fight to get out. Hanging on for more than an hour, the Var have scored three tries in the last twenty minutes (Issa 61st, Cordin 75th, Devaux 80th + 2) to extricate themselves from the Agen trap.
But it was the last, after two minutes of stoppage in play, which made Patrice Collazo smile despite the injury of the second line international Romain Taofifenua, visibly injured in the cervical.
With this fourth try, synonymous with an offensive bonus, the Toulonnais are now 5th in the standings, well established in European places.
