Linz – A 21-year-old Romanian was seriously injured in a knife fight in downtown Linz on Sunday night. The man was attacked by a 25-year-old Iraqi, reported ORF Upper Austria. As a police spokesman said at the request of the APA, the 21-year-old suffered cuts on his face, neck and upper body.

The 25-year-old was arrested on site and the 21-year-old injured was taken to a hospital. The two men got into an argument in front of a bar on Linzer Landstrasse, which eventually escalated. It was initially unclear whether the Romanian was attacked with a knife. The police said the weapon is still being determined.

The motive for the argument was not yet known on Sunday afternoon. After the police were alerted, a large contingent of emergency services rushed to the scene. The road had to be temporarily closed in this area.
