Stabbed with a knife in a dispute in Würzburg: 21-year-old seriously injured

Another young man was cut while attempting to intervene. By order of the Würzburg public prosecutor, the 17-year-old was brought before the investigating judge, who issued an arrest warrant.

According to their own statements, the police and the emergency services were called around 0.30 a.m. to a physical altercation between several people on Schenkhofstrasse. In front of a restaurant there, several visitors to the restaurant apparently got into an argument, during which a 17-year-old pulled a knife and stabbed his 21-year-old opponent with it. After receiving first aid from an emergency doctor, the victim was taken to a hospital by the emergency services with his serious injuries. A 22-year-old, who is said to have tried to mediate, was also injured by the knife and had to seek medical treatment. The suspect was provisionally arrested that night and, by order of the Würzburg public prosecutor, brought before the investigating judge on Monday. He issued an arrest warrant for attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm. The 17-year-old was transferred to a correctional facility.

The Würzburg criminal police are investigating the background to the crime under the direction of the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office. In this context, the Würzburg Criminal Police Office is asking witnesses to the incident who have not yet been questioned by the police, as well as people who can provide further information on the course of the crime, to call 0931/457-1732.
