A court in Latvia has arrested 22-year-old St Petersburg University student and activist of the Russian Union of Latvia party Tatyana Andriets. About it informs Delphi.
Lawyer Imma Jansone said that her client does not admit her guilt and plans to appeal the arrest in the Riga District Court. According to her, the defense offered to post bail, but the court did not agree.
Andriets was detained on February 7 after a search of her mother’s apartment. The authorities call her a pro-Kremlin activist and believe that she is acting against the interests of the country’s national security.
Delfi writes that Tatyana Andriets was a member of the council of the Russian Union of Latvia party. According to party co-chair Miroslav Mitrofanov, she temporarily suspended her membership in the party because she studies at St. Petersburg State University and spent most of her time in Russia. TVNET claimsthat she is one of the administrators of the telegram channel “Antifascists of the Baltic States”. In the channel they deny it.

She hasn’t been officially announced yet. The day after the arrest at St. Petersburg State University declaredthat they are ready to provide legal and “any other assistance that the student needs.”
The Russian embassy reacted to the detention of Andriets as follows: “It is a pity that, under the pretext of far-fetched” disloyalty “, the local authorities are “stifling” active young people who only realistically assess the degrading situation with respect for human rights in Latvia and are not afraid to say it out loud” .
