St. Pauli has a break problem. Also at Hansa Rostock? – 2nd Bundesliga

It’s an odd number. There were four international breaks this season, during which the second division was suspended. Every time it started again, the Kiez kickers had trouble getting back on track. Happens again in Rostock?

St. Pauli’s problem with the break hole!

At the beginning of September there was a 0-1 draw at Hannover 96 after the first break. One of St. Pauli’s weakest games ever in this strong season. After all: A 4:2 in Heidenheim followed in mid-October – after a lousy first half (0:1) with a strong thunderstorm in the break cabin.

Things got really bad in mid-November. After the Corona game failure against Sandhausen and the international break, the team of coach Timo Schultz (44) applauded with 0:4 in Darmstadt – the highest bankruptcy of the season.

At the beginning of February, St. Pauli lost a two-time lead against SC Paderborn after the last international break and had to settle for a 2-2 draw in the end.

The pause problem is well known. Schultz: “That was always an issue lately. We always changed the processes there.”

A lot was tried: sometimes a completely free weekend in the middle, test games on the days before to stay in the rhythm of the game. Or just train completely through the actually game-free weekend.

“Schulle” has not yet found the ideal solution. This time the pros had three days off right after the Heidenheim game. Schultz: “Just put your feet up.” Some used it for a short vacation or home vacation. Training has resumed since Wednesday. Training takes place on Saturday and there is another day off on Sunday.

The players are also aware of the pause problem. Clearer Eric Smith: “Of course I hope that things will go better this time. It’s always important to me that you learn from mistakes, analyze them and then do better. So we can’t rest now and I think everyone here is totally focused on the next game.”

In a week Hansa Rostock is waiting for the north derby. Let’s see if St. Pauli gets its break hole problem under control there…
