When we push the doors of the municipal media library we are pleasantly surprised by the decor that is both sober and well thought out.
Part “ adult “where books and novels reach out to you and another intended for youth and children’s education.
It’s a beautiful morning on the 4th november 2015 that the municipal library, located on the first floor of the foyer Jean Bonnafous was moving to avenue de Narbonne in place of a building housing the agricultural high school, under the leadership of Paulette Aguillana, an elected passionate about culture.

becomes a media library
At the helm is Rose-Marie Blanc, who started as a volunteer in 2014 and after training at the Aude library, became an employee.
To support her, a handful of volunteers like Marie-Bénédicte Vernel, animator, Richard Lanfranchi, passionate about documentaries, and Michèle Consigny who accompanies adults and children to choose books or novels. Frédérique Lerat acting as the liaison between the town hall and the media library. Many activities are to be put to the credit of the media library such as the monthly literary circle, exhibitions, meetings with authors presenting their works, the organization of Reading Nights, meetings with schools and the nursery, pictorial exhibitions with artists.
Book loans, of course, and a music department with loans of CDs, DVDs, sheet music and audiobooks, are added to the already abundant offer.

grainothèque
Also of note, a novelty, with the creation of a seed library where you can bring and exchange seeds and cuttings. Children are not forgotten because a toy library has just been created around board games with various animations, mixing adults and children.
In addition, three computers are available to the public and can be used on site without counting the free wifi. The media library has a hundred adult members and fifty, listed as children.
A real broth of culture that this powerful tool that is called the Municipal Media Library of Saint-Laurent.
