07.01.2024 Account (bli). On Saturday in Reken, 150 star singers from the St. Heinrich parish collected 20,377.50 euros for disadvantaged children around the world.
The motto of this year’s Sternsinger campaign is “Together for our earth – in the Amazon and worldwide”. The focus is on preserving creation and treating people and nature with respect. The donations collected are used to support projects that improve the living conditions of children.
All star singers met in St. Heinrich Church for the sending-out service at 9 a.m. led by Pastor Cyril Stephen. The groups, accompanied by parents, then distributed themselves across the five districts.
Like Enni (8) and Emilie (6), who moved from house to house in Reken train station.
In Groß Reken, Julius (13), Laurenz (11) and Thilo (8) took part in the campaign.
They brought the blessing “20*C+M+B+24” – “Christus Mansionem Benedicat – Christ bless this house” to the citizens of Reken. As a thank you, they received a donation for the star singer campaign and some sweets.
A preparation team had previously ensured that everything went smoothly, such as providing the costumes and working out the route.
