Latvia became the second country in the world to ban the use of the St. George ribbon. About this on Facebook reported party Russian Union of Latvia (RSL).

In the message, the St. George ribbon was called “a symbol of the memory of the price at which the fathers and grandfathers won victory in the war against the German fascist invaders.”

“For our part, we will challenge this ban,” the RSL stressed and threatened to publish a list of all those who voted for the bill.

We add that the Seim of Latvia introduced a ban on the use of St. George ribbons during public events on Thursday, November 11.

A corresponding proposal was made by the national association All for Latvia, which is a member of the ruling coalition! – Homeland and Freedom / Movement for the National Independence of Latvia.

The decision is still to be signed by the president.
