St Gallen embroidery in New York

The Textile Museum in St. Gallen shows embroidery in the United States for the first time, including a dress that Michelle Obama once wore

For the first time in nearly 40 years, a larger St. Gallen embroidery exhibition will be staged in New York. It goes hand in hand with a Switzerland Tourism campaign aimed at showing the United States that Eastern Switzerland is top in other areas as well.

Michelle Obama wore this dress at the inauguration of her husband Barack Obama in 2009. The fabric comes from Forster Rohner AG St. Gallen.

The opening day of the Threads of Power embroidery exhibition Bard Graduate Center in New York in collaboration with the Textilmuseum St. Gallen, falls on one of those late summer days when the colors are bright and the temperature is right. People on the street are in a good mood and it’s amazing how varied it is.
