Morelia, Michoacán, December 6, 2021.- The Ministry of Health of Michoacán (SSM), continues with the actions of timely diagnoses of breast cancer through mobile mammographers, which will be in various municipalities of the entity, from December 6 to 10.
The mammography convoys will provide free service to women between 40 and 69 years of age, in the Cereso “Lic. David Franco Rodríguez ”, Sahuayo, Contepec, Panindícuaro, La Piedad, Tarímbaro, Tzitzio, Huandacareo and Numarán.
To access the service, they must present a voter ID and / or CURP, be clean, with shaved armpits, do not use deodorant, perfume, talcum, or body cream; Wear the mask correctly and comply with the sanitary measures that are implemented in each unit.
Mammography is the most effective way to detect and diagnose breast cancer in a timely manner, with an emphasis on those women who have some of the following risk factors:
• Overweight or obese.
• Being over 40 years old (the older the age, the higher the risk).
• History of breast cancer in mother or sisters.
• Having presented another disease in the breasts.
• Having been a mother after the age of 30.
• Having started menstruating before the age of 12.
• Having presented the last menstruation after 52 years.
• Have received chest radiation therapy.
• Have used hormone therapy before or after menopause for more than five years.
