The Secretariat for the Security of Citizens of Mexico City (SSC-CDMX) implemented the “Safe Stadium” operation, as part of the football match between América and Guadalajara, which will be played tonight at the Azteca Stadium.
In a statement, he indicated that 2,795 police officers are participating in this operation, in order to protect the physical and patrimonial integrity of the fans who attend the sporting event.
For the match that will take place after 20:00, the SSC will have 869 soldiers, who will be supported 57 official vehicles, two ambulances of the Rescue Team and Medical Emergencies (ERUM), plus a helicopter of the Cóndores Air Services Executive Directorate which will carry out dissuasion and prevention flyovers.

“With the aim of monitoring the entrances, exits, corridors and grandstand area of the area also known as Coloso de Santa Úrsula, as well as protecting the physical integrity of fans, workers and staff, with security and auditing, 1,926 agents of the Auxiliary Police (PA) will be deployed, supported by 16 official cars “, CSS said.
Meanwhile, the staff of the Undersecretary for Traffic Control will implement a viability with cuts to traffic and will provide alternative routes for drivers to ensure the mobility of pedestrians and motorists.
The SSC has recommended the following road alternatives for motorists driving near the sports facility:
- Peripheral ring
- Viaduct of Tlalpan
- Boulevard Gran Sur
- In addition to the streets Santa Úrsula and Santo Tomás

For their part, the SSC troops will maintain constant tours, as part of the operation against the resale of tickets at the entrances and areas surrounding the Azteca Stadium.
Likewise, the SSC urges participants to comply with all preventive health measures and makes the following recommendations to enjoy the game without setbacks:
- Anticipate your departure to get to the event on time

- Respect the traffic lights and the indications of the agents of the Undersecretary of Traffic Control
- When driving, respect and privilege pedestrians near the stadium
