Ssa reports more than 35 thousand cases of reactions to covid vaccines

The Ministry of Health reported that, from December 24, 2020, when the vaccination campaign against covid-19 started, and until the cutoff of March 4, 202235 thousand 879 Events Supposedly Attributable to Vaccination and Immunization (ESAVI) have been identified, of which, 34 thousand 844 (97.12 percent) were Not Serious and one thousand 35 (2.88 percent) were Serious ESAVI, including in the latter 24 pregnant women and 38 under 17 years of age.

The most affected sector was the group of 30 to 39 years. The main signs and symptoms presented with Severe ESAVI were: Adynamia (total lack of physical strength that is a symptom of some serious illness) with 8,559.

In addition, a total of 457 with headache (common, recurrent nervous system headaches); 384 with asthenia (chronic tiredness with frequent consultation) and fatigue; and 324 dyspnea (feeling of shortness of breath). Likewise, 11 thousand 982 with arthralgia (pain in one or several joints)

Non-serious ESAVI symptoms registered were headache 22 thousand 773 people; 16 thousand 134 pain or tenderness at the application site and myalgia 14 thousand 437 (presence of pain in the muscular area), according to the “ESAVI covid-19 Report” of the General Directorate of Epidemiology.

In Mexico, 133 million 972 thousand 266 doses of different vaccines have been applied, until the cut of March 2022. Sand deals with Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca SinoVac, Sputnik V, CanSino, Moderna and Sinopharm, in the case of Janssen exclusively in the border areas.

The ESAVIs were mainly concentrated in Mexico City with 4,798 of the cases; Jalisco with three thousand 898 and State of Mexico with two thousand 685 people registered.

Serious ESAVIs occurred more in women, with 59 percent, than men, with 41 percent, according to what was reported by the health services of the states to the federation. Also in the No Graves, 72 percent of prevalence is female compared to 28 percent males.

By age, profession or condition: from 12 to 17 years old, 38 had a report of ESAVI Serious (7.50 percent) and 469 (92.50 percent) ESAVI Not Serious. They add up to 507 cases (100 percent).

Pregnant, 24 women (4.81 percent) registered ESAVI Serious and 475 (95.19 percent) ESAVI Not Serious. They add up to 499 (100 percent).

Health personnel, 138 (0.83 percent) with Serious ESAVI and 16,310 (99.16 percent) with Non-serious ESAVI. It is a total of 16 thousand 448 doctors, nurses or workers

Older Adult, a total had 334 (8.93 percent) Serious ESAVI and 3,407 (91.07 percent) Non-Serious ESAVI. The total sum in both is three thousand 741 (100 percent)

Teachers, 31 (3.32 percent) with ESAVI Serious and 902 (96.68 percent) with ESAVI Not Serious. They add up to a total of 933 (100 percent)

From 50 to 59 years old, a total of 114 people (4.23 percent) with Serious ESAVI and 2,579 (95.77 percent) with Non-Serious ESAVI. They add up to 2,693 (100 percent); from 40 to 49 years old, 110 (3.39 percent) with Serious ESAVI and 3 thousand 134 (96.61 percent) ESAVI Not Serious, in total, three thousand 244 (100 percent).

In the age group 30 to 39 years, a total of 89 (4.12 percent) reported Serious ESAVI and two thousand 69 (95.87 percent) reported No Serious ESAVI. In total, those affected were 2,158 (100 percent); from 18 to 29 years old, 116 (4.31 percent) with Serious ESAVI and 2,578 (95.69 percent) with Non-Serious ESAVI, they are altogether, two thousand 694 (100 percent).

The people from the northern border, nine in total (1.07 percent) had Serious ESAVI and 829 with Non-Serious ESAVI, in total, 836 were attended to due to some problem.

Considering the cases of Serious ESAVI by age group, in both sexes, 63 are under 20 years old; 159 cases from 20 to 29 years old; 171 people from 30 to 39 years old; 162 from 40 to 49 years old; 136 range from 50 to 59 years and 344 immunized the age of 60 or more.

If we consider the 133 million 972 doses 266 applied, until March 4, 2022, from Pfizer-BioNTech 35 million 874 thousand 667 vaccines have been applied, of which, 322 are ESAVI Serious and 18 thousand 529 are Not Serious.

From AstraZeneca, 49 million 783 thousand 383 doses have been registered, of which 411 are Serious ESAVI and 10 thousand 872 Not Serious; of SinoVac, a total of 18 million 456 thousand 001 doses, which are divided as follows, 110 were classified as Serious ESAVI and 1,677 Not Serious.

From Sputnik V, 10,257,589 vaccines were applied, of which 54 presented Serious ESAVI and 1,022 Non-Serious ESAVI.

With the single dose of CanSino, 15 million 177 thousand 016 people were protected, especially teachers, of which 62 reported Serious ESAVI and 1,419 ESAVI Not Serious.

With Janssen, a total of one million 242 thousand 211 immunized were reported. These are single doses that were donated by the United States to activate the border economy, of these, nine presented Serious ESAVI and 830 Non-serious ESAVI.

The Moderna vaccine accounts for a total of 3 million 181 thousand 399 vaccines. 53 cases of Serious ESAVI and 451 Non-serious ESAVI were identified.

There are 12 people with ESAVI Serious abroad and 36 who also chose to go ahead of the national scheme with ESAVI No Serious. It is unknown which biological they received.

“Vaccines approved in Mexico are safe. ESAVIs are expected events in the massive application of any biological. The General Directorate of Epidemiology, through the Directorate of Epidemiological Surveillance of Communicable Diseases, continues to strengthen the epidemiological surveillance of ESAVI”, according to the published report.
