Thiruvananthapuram> 47th Vayalar Award to Srikumaran Thambi. The award consists of one lakh rupees and a sculpture designed by Kanai Kunhiraman. The award was given to the book ‘Jergeta Oru Pendulum’. He has made his mark as a lyricist, director, screenwriter, producer and music director and has directed 30 films and produced 22 films. Sreekumaran Thambi has been a prominent presence in Malayalam cinema for the last half century. Won State Award for Best Lyricist. The book ‘Cinema: Math and Kavita’ won the National Award for Best Film Book. Directed by Sreekumaran Thambi, ‘Ganam’ won the State Award for Popularity and Artistic Value in 1981. In 2015, he received the award of Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi for his comprehensive contribution in the field of drama song composition and simple music. In 2018, he also received the JC Daniel Award for his contribution to the Malayalam film industry. The 2022 Vayalar Ramavarma Sahitya Award was awarded to S. Harish’s novel Meesha.
