Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati mentioned the name Siti Hardianti Rukmana alias Tutut when responding to a debt case that was billed by businessman Jusuf Hamka of IDR 179 billion. Tutut is considered to be affiliated through Bank Yama.
“We’ll see the case from the whole process of past issues, namely the bank that was taken over by the government during the BLBI era, where there were various principles regarding affiliation and the obligations of those who were affiliated,” said Sri Mulyani after a working meeting with Commission XI, DPR, Jakarta, Monday (12/6/2023).
“So indeed I also see that there is a legal process in court in this matter. But on the other hand, the BLBI task force, where Mr. Mahfud as the head of the steering team, we still have quite significant bills, including parties affiliated with Bank Yaya, which is owned by Siti. Hardianti Rukmana,” he explained.
This problem has high complexity, because it is interrelated with one another. Sri Mulyani avoided taking steps that would actually harm the state.
“Don’t let the state that has financed bailouts from closed banks and are now still being demanded again to pay various parties who may still be affiliated at that time,” he said.
Director General of State Assets Rionald Silaban added, during the liquidation of Bank Yama, CMNP was still under control of the bank founded by the daughter of President Suharto.
“At that time, CMNP was under the control of the shareholders who owned Bank Yama. That was the point. In reality, there was a court decision,” added Rionald.
Therefore, it is necessary to be careful in making decisions. CMNP itself has hundreds of billions in debt to the government through three companies under the Citra Group.
“I don’t remember the exact number. [Utangnya] hundreds of billions. related to BLBI as well,” said Rionald.
Jusuf Hamka also denied the CMNP Group’s involvement in the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) scandal. He said that if his company was dragged into the scandal, the CMNP name should have been included in the BLBI obligor records.
Jusuf Hamka further said that the accusations of affiliation between Bank Yama which failed and was bailout by the government and its CMNP as mentioned by the Ministry of Finance were completely untrue.
According to Jusuf’s confession, since 1997 CMNP was no longer owned by Tutut and was owned by the public and the consortium owned by Jusuf Hamka. For information, CMNP, which was founded by Tutut, has been listed as a public company since 1995.
Jusuf also said that CMNP, which he said was not affiliated with Bank Yama, had legal force which was decided by the court.
Jusuf Hamka also boasted that if Rionald and the Ministry of Finance could prove that there was an affiliation between the CMNP or himself related to BLBI, he would provide Rp. 100 billion. On the other hand, if it is proven that he is not related to BLBI, Jusuf Hamka will only ask to be paid Rp. 1.
“If indeed the Citra group (CMNP) or Jusuf Hamka (involved) in BLBI I will give an angpao of IDR 100 billion, but if I’m not involved, just pay me IDR 1. Just try to check the obligor records (BLBI), is there Jusuf Hamka or CMNP? ,” said Jusuf Hamka
