Sri Mulyani: If you want to buy a car right now, in June, the PPnBM discount will be reduced

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani states, the amount of the incentive for Luxury Value Added Tax or Zero percent PPnBM for motorized vehicles only for 2021.

He explained that the 100 percent PPnBM incentive borne by the government is only valid from March to May 2021.

“PPnBM is 100 percent, that is, there is no need to pay or be payable on the delivery of a motorized vehicle that meets the provisions for the tax period, it is valid until May. So, if you want to buy a car, it would be better if now until May because the PPnBM is 100 percent borne by the government,” he said. during a press conference, Monday (1/3/2021).

Meanwhile, if consumers buy a vehicle after May, they only get a 50 percent PPnBM discount.

“If you plan to buy the car between June and August, the PPnBM will get a 50 percent discount which is borne by the government,” he said.

In addition, he added, if you buy it in September to December this year, the government will bear 25 percent of the PPnBM.

“So, in this case we are deliberately designing front loading so that it is intended to spur confidence. Then, this can simultaneously increase economic recovery,” he concluded. Sri Mulyani.
