Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The soaring prices of mineral and coal commodities (minerba) in 2021 will also have an impact on a surge in state revenues.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said state revenues from the mineral and coal sector, both taxes, export duties, and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in 2021 reached Rp 124.4 trillion.
“This is the highest revenue in the last five years,” he said at the ‘Launching of the Inter-Ministry/Institutional Coal and Mineral Information System (SIMBARA)’ event, Tuesday (08/03/2022).
He explained that the increase in commodity prices contributed greatly to the high state revenue in 2021.
“The increase in the price of mineral and coal commodities has made a big contribution,” he said.
However, according to him, the government, both central and regional, must respond to this in a more organized manner in coordinating. The reason is, the higher the price of mineral and coal commodities, according to him, the threat of good governance is also getting higher.
“Because the price of mineral and coal is higher, the threat of good governance becomes very high. The incentives to commit violations of good governance in smuggling, under-invoicing, tax invasion are very large. ,” he said.
According to him, in the era of technology digitalization, business integration and data integration between Ministries/Institutions should be easy and should be able to be done. According to him, digitalization is an important key for improving governance and strengthening supervision, as well as for improving services for the business world.
“The business world can get certainty from Ministries/Institutions with the same information. This is an important form of transparency and accountability,” he said.
Therefore, with the launch of SIMBARA, it is hoped that the governance of the mineral and coal sector will be more certain.
“I hope that this SIMBARA will provide more definite, transparent, and accountable governance from the business world side,” he concluded.
