Fully vaccinated tourists from October 1 will not be able to take a PCR test for coronavirus.

Sri Lanka exempted fully vaccinated travelers from having to take a PCR test for coronavirus upon arrival in the country. It is reported by Colombo Page.

Those who enter who have a negative PCR test (taken no earlier than 72 hours before boarding the plane) are exempted from the need to take it again upon arrival in Sri Lanka if they have not completed the COVID-19 vaccination course. less than 14 days before travel.

The corresponding rule was adopted by the local Ministry of Health on September 28 at the request of the Minister of Tourism of Sri Lanka and will come into force on October 1.

Tourists who have not passed 15 days from the moment of vaccination will be taken to the hotel, where they will take a PCR test on the 7th or 14th day of rest (depending on how many days have passed after vaccination). In case of negative results, they will be allowed to travel around the island.

Unvaccinated tourists will be able to take the test only 14 days after arrival.
