SRE mourns fatal plane crash in Sao Paulo

Mexico City. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) regretted the accident involving the Voepass airline in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where 62 people died, and reported that there were no Mexican victims, while providing various telephone numbers so that in case there are compatriots who require help, they can request it.

Through her X account, Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena published this Friday: “I regret the fatal accident of the Voepass airline in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and I send the most heartfelt condolences and solidarity of Mexico to President Lula and the families of the deceased.”

On the same social network, the SRE regretted “the tragedy that occurred this Friday in Sao Paulo, Brazil, due to the plane crash that claimed the lives of more than 60 people. We extend our condolences to family, friends and the people of that country, in the face of this irreparable loss.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also indicated that its consulate in Sao Paulo “has not reported any affected Mexicans so far” and made the contact number +551197687 5591 available to the public to deal with possible emergencies.
