Oaxaca, Oax.- (Vanguard of Veracruz).- Herminio, Isauro and Abimael, young indigenous Oaxacans, were found dead in a vacant lot in Phoenix, Arizona. The three – one of them a minor – presumably showed signs of beatings, but the cause of their death has not been disclosed.
It was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that confirmed, through the Mexican consulate in that state, that the three young people were originally from Oaxaca, from the Mixe or Ayuujk municipality of Santo Domingo Tepuxtepec.
He explained that it was on February 20 when the Phoenix security authorities received a report about a person found dead, but when they arrived at the place indicated, they found 3 bodies.
It transpired that the young people migrated to the United States 5 months ago and that their relatives are poor, so they were asking the Mexican authorities for help to be able to repatriate the bodies and bury them in the land where they were born.
The Consulate indicated that it maintains communication with relatives of the three young people to provide them with the necessary consular assistance, including the proper accompaniment for “the eventual repatriation of the bodies.”
On the other hand, the Oaxacan government condemned the murder of three young Ayuujk indigenous people, through the Oaxacan Institute for Migrant Assistance (IOAM).
The Mexican authorities condemned the murder and trusted that “the police authorities will locate the person or persons responsible so that they can be brought to justice and punished according to law.”
