SRAM Group to acquire Time Sports’ pedal business from Rossignol Group

Immediately after the French Groupe Rossignol SA announced last week that it would transfer the carbon frame and fork production of its domestic subsidiary Time Sport International SAS, including the RTM Composite Factory production facility, to the French-American investment and management group Cardinal Cycling Group sell, she is now separating from the rest of Time business The Time Pedel business has just been sold to the US bicycle component roof SRAM Group (brands Quarq, Rockshox, SRAM, Truvativ, Zipp) for an undisclosed price.

According to the SRAM Group, “the entire Time range of racing and mountain bike pedals, cleats and all associated patents” have been taken over from the Rossignol Group.
Click pedal pioneer Time Sport was founded in 1987 in Nevers, France. The pedal production facility is also located there. What will become of it – whether it is included in the takeover deal and, if so, whether it will be continued or whether SRAM Group will produce time pedals elsewhere in the future, the Americans could not answer immediately to RadMarkt demand, at least yesterday. Only this much: this “good question” would be answered as soon as possible.
“Time is a legendary brand and was the first to focus on the ergonomics of pedal movement. We will work to preserve Time’s history and legacy and continue its heritage of innovation and quality, ”assures SRAM President Ken Lousberg.
Rossignol Group itself will continue to be involved in the bicycle market with its complete bike brands Felt Bicycles (Onroad) and Rossignol Bicycles (Offroad). Looking at the Time sale that has now been completed, Rossignol Senior VP Bike Division Scott Rittschof explains: “I am delighted that we have found two exceptional buyers for Time. To drive the brand forward, each of them brings unique strengths. “
But it also means that both Cardinal Cycling Group and SRAM Group will market products under the brand name Time in the future. In order to differentiate itself, the SRAM Group will in future use the name Time Sport and Cardinal Cycling Group the name Time Bikes in its external communication.
During a transition phase that should run until mid-2021, customers should continue to contact Time for product service and support.
