Possibly Facilitation of naturalization for secondas and secondos
The Council of States (SR) does not want a system change in Swiss citizenship:
- Anyone born in Switzerland should not automatically receive Swiss citizenship in the future either.
The SR therefore rejected a corresponding motion by Paul Rechsteiner (SP / SG) with 29 to 13 votes with no abstentions.
- Rechsteiner’s advance is now over.
In contrast, the SR assigned a motion by the Council of States Lisa Mazzone (Greens / GE) without opposition to his State Political Commission (SPK-S) for examination:
- The federal government should not only facilitate the naturalization of third-generation foreigners, as it has done up to now, but also that of secondas and secondos.
