According to the CTFN (via Bloomberg), several potential buyers showed interest in Square Enix. The source is two bankers familiar with the matter.
It is unclear whether the focus is on the gaming industry or the company as a whole. According to Bloomberg data, Square Enix’s digital entertainment business accounted for 72% of total sales in the fiscal year ending in late March 2020.
That said, we don’t know if any companies will actually make the acquisition or even which companies would be interested in buying Square Enix.
