The announcement was made during a special broadcast, SaGa Glimmerfest 2023, which celebrated 34 years of the RPG franchise. The presentation, which you can check out in the video below, also gave a deeper look at Emerald Beyond’s cast of heroes, with commentary from producer Masanori Ichikawa, SaGa series executive producer and general director Akioshi Kawazu, and localization director , Neil Broadley.
The heroes of SaGa: Emerald Beyond are two very different young people, Tsunadori Mido and Ameya Aisling, gifted with the rare ability to see the emerald waves that reveal the options for their destinies.
Tsunadori comes from the important Mido family, a lineage capable of controlling puppets called kugustu, used to do all kinds of strange and dangerous work. He joins the Cathedral Project, a group of explorers investigating other worlds, to repair his city’s barrier and recover lost spiritual energy. Check out:
The flamboyant Yumeha Izumi is a high school student in Miyako City, or at least that’s what people believe: she is the secret identity of Ameya Aisling, a witch who had her powers stolen. Ameya hopes that by following the emerald waves, she will discover who stole her and become the best witch of all time. See Ameya in action:
SaGa Emerald Beyond is the latest game in the SaGa series, which includes games such as SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered, Romancing SaGa 3 and SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITION, as well as the mobile games SaGa Re;univerSe and SaGa Frontier Remastered.
SaGa Emerald Beyond arrives on April 26th for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
