Square Enix Announces PC Version of Final Fantasy 16 and Two DLC Packs

Square Enix has officially announced that a PC version of Final Fantasy 16 is in development, along with two pieces of paid DLC.

She added that more details about Square Enix’s plans for Final Fantasy 16 for PC will be shared before the end of the year.

Final Fantasy XVI Producer Naoki Yoshida shared the news during a PAX West panel on Saturday, along with the news that a major update has been released for the PlayStation 5 version.

“It’s been just over two months since the release of Final Fantasy XVI and we’ve received a huge amount of feedback from players around the world,” Yoshida said via a pre-recorded video.

“The development team and I have also been watching your videos and live streams, paying special attention to what everyone thinks about Final Fantasy XVI. We did everything we could to make this game, so it’s fun to see so many different reactions.

“So as a token of our sincere gratitude, we are making a free update available for download today.”

The full patch notes for the new update can be found included below. Yoshida highlighted the fact that they added new fat layouts, a weapon skin feature that allows players to change the look of Clive’s weapons, and alternate outfits for Clive, Gail, Torgal, Ambrosia, and Joshua.

“As I mentioned before, we’ve seen a lot of comments and comments from our Final Fantasy XVI player community,” Yoshida continued. “But one thing that came across particularly strongly was people’s desire to see more of Valletta’s story and to spend more time with its people.

To match, the development team has begun work on two batches of paid DLC.

Finally, while Final Fantasy XVI was released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, we understand that many of you have requested a PC version. So let me take this opportunity to officially announce that development on the PC version is now underway.

“I hope to be able to give you more information on both the DLC and the PC version before the end of this year, so please stay tuned.”

Final Fantasy 16 was released for PS5 in June, and Square Enix has claimed that it will remain a Sony console exclusive for at least the rest of the calendar year.

Prior to the game’s release, Yoshida said he wanted to see a PC version of the game released “eventually.”

“First and foremost, it’s true that Final Fantasy 16 is a limited-time, six-month PS5 exclusive,” said Lipani. PlayStation Blog. However, it is a completely different story that the PC version will be released in six months. I’ll make it clear, but the PC version won’t be released in six months.

“This is because we have invested a lot of time and money in optimizing the PS5 platform to provide the best gaming experience. Of course, I’d like to release a PC version at some point so everyone can play as many games as possible.

“However, even if we start optimizing the PC version after the PS5 version is released, we won’t be able to improve it in half a year, so it won’t be released in a short period of half a year. I would like to release it eventually, and I think I will, but I’m not at the point where I can say when.”
