In recent days, a rumor has emerged out of nowhere, revealing that Spyro 4 is actually in the works and that it would be revealed on October 5th, that is, this same week. Many believed that this could be Activision’s first exclusive for the Xbox, after all the purchase is about to be completed.
The most beloved dragon in the world of video games last appeared in the fun Spyro Reignited Trilogy thanks to developer Toys For Bob, and then left the scene. We learned that it sold more than 10 million copies, meaning it’s a franchise that’s really worth posting.
Considering that rumors about an official fourth chapter have been going around for months, fans have been crossing their fingers that this could be the right time.
Now, however, as was also reported on Reddit, the rumor that Spyro 4 was about to be revealed has been unfortunately categorically denied. The elusive sequel, which was rumored to have been called Spyro 4 Mystery of the Dragon, is therefore not confirmed.
In fact, a moderator reported the deletion of the profile of the user who authored the discussion, marking the post as “false”. In short, although fans were hoping that the rumor was true and that Spyro 4 was on the way, the lack of a reliable source for the rumor suggested the worstand so it was.
We hope, however, that the game is still in progress and that it can be shown when we least expect it. Furthermore, rumors already started circulating a few weeks ago about the development of a supposed Spyro 4, so all is not lost.
