“I want to take this opportunity to thank the Russian government because thanks to the Sputnik V vaccine, many lives were saved in Argentina,” the ambassador told Sputnik.

Zuain stressed that Argentines will never forget the arrival of the first plane with the Sputnik V vials, developed by the Nikolai Gamaleya Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow. The vaccine, he emphasized he, demonstrated its high effectiveness against COVID-19 disease.

With an efficacy of more than 91.6%, Sputnik V became the first registered COVID-19 vaccine in the world in August 2020.
