The state network for further education is holding this year’s spring conference on April 20th and 21st in Vienna. The association consists of the nine adult education networks in the federal states, the public library system and representatives from the offices of the state governments.
Adult Education and Democracy Education in Austria
At the spring conference, the country network will focus on democracy building. Keynote speeches will come from Rahel Baumgartner (Austrian Society for Civic Education), Doris Wyskitensky (Head of the Adult Education Department at the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research) and Georg Primas (Chairman of the Conference on Adult Education in Austria).
Vienna took over the presidency in 2023
At the beginning of the year, the “Vienna Adult Education Network” took over the chair of the network of federal states, which is rotated to a different federal state network every year. In addition to the spring conference, which will be opened by Vienna’s Deputy Mayor and City Councilor for Education, Christoph Wiederkehr, the first campaign month for adult education in Vienna is also planned for September. The next conference of the country network will also take place in Vienna from September 13th to 15th.

The state network for further education is dedicated to the exchange of information with state government offices, the federal government, the Austrian adult education conference and EU institutions and would like to make a contribution to the further development of adult education and the public library system in Austria.
