The high demand for travel during the spring break, which begins in the last week of March, prompted airlines to raise ticket prices by varying rates ranging between 20-40% on some routes, depending on the destination, and in line with the volume of demand, according to sources working in the travel sector.

Monitoring the “Economic Statement” of the ticket prices announced on the booking websites and on the websites of the airlines showed that the prices of tickets on commercial airlines for flights departing with the beginning of the spring break to Amman, Beirut and Cairo ranged between 1150 to 1500 dirhams in one direction, while the prices ranged on Same destinations and on the same date on economic carriers between 900 to 1100 dirhams, knowing that prices are constantly changing depending on the volume of demand.

He added that the spring break is witnessing a growth in the demand for travel abroad, and it is expected that the demand will increase during the coming weeks, indicating that searches from the UAE abroad during the upcoming spring break period amounted to about 800,000 operations.
Humaidan added that the average price of a ticket for travel during the holiday reached $355, while the most prominent destinations that top searches from the UAE are Egypt, India, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco and Lebanon for the purpose of tourism and family visits, in addition to holiday destinations such as Turkey and Thailand. He stressed the importance of booking and early planning for travel to avoid a further rise during the coming period.
For his part, Salah Mansour, Executive Director of STS in the Dubai Link Group, said that ticket prices during the spring break are at their highest levels since the beginning of this year, supported by the high demand for travel, indicating that the rate of price increases ranges between 20-40%.
