Sprīdītis, Snow White, Dwarfs, Golden Bird … Dzintari Concert Hall will host concerts for children / Day

The concerts will feature well-known Latvian musicians and, of course, musicologist Karina Bērziņš, who is the author and narrator of the ideas of these musical messages. In the performances you will be able to get to know the sounds of various musical instruments, follow the dance steps, enjoy the original drawings of sand cinema on the screen, get to know the images of the Eastern world and meet the characters of the Latvian fairy tale master Anna Brigadere again. The concerts will take place on holiday lunches from February 20 and will run until the end of April.

Sunday, Feb. 20, at A musical tale will be performed at 11.00 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Its main characters are the characters of a well-known fairy tale – Snow White (Marlene Keine, soprano), Prince (Juris Vizbulis, tenor) and the Evil Queen (LNOB soloist Ilona Bagele, mezzo-soprano). Students of Riga music schools and young foresters will feel like the images of seven dwarfs. The concert will feature music by composers J. Haydn, VA Mozart, J. Verdi, K. Sansans and others, performed by a piano trio (Rihards Plešanovs (piano), Kristiāna Šīrante (violin), Jānis Pauls (cello)). Ballet studios will give a nice accent to the musical story Fresco dancers (leader T.Pavlenina).

The cycle will continue on March 20 at 11.00 with a performance A fairy tale with a golden bird, in which professional artists will get acquainted with the images of the Eastern world (Eastern Princess – Elza Rozentāle, Golden Bird – Dināra Rudāne, The Desert Ruler – Māris Jēkabsons (duduks, znna), Monkey of Happiness – Nils Īle (percussion), Šakālis – Rihards Plešan The performance will feature compositions by M.Balakirev, F.Seja, K.Sensans and melodies of Eastern nations. The original drawings of sand cinema on the screen (Guna Miķelsone), as well as the performance of future ballet dancers (students of NMV Riga Ballet School, teachers K.Kitnere, A.Andersone) will create a special mood.

On April 9, at 11.00 in a musical performance Sprīdītis the well-known Anna Brigadere’s fairy tale in the Latvian composer J.Mediņa, Im.Kalniņa, as well as in Latvian folk music. Students of the Riga Dome Choir School participate in the performance. Cast: LNOB choir artist, soprano Brigita Čirkše (Princess Zeltīte), LNOB soloist, baritone Kalvis Kalniņš (Milzis Lutausis), LNOB choir artist, baritone Daniils Kuzmins (Devil), mezzo-soprano Baiba Renerte (Forest) Sīkulis), flutist Vita Rozēna-Gaļicka (Mother of the Wind). The performance will be played by the outstanding Latvian kokletan Laima Jansone.

The cycle will end on April 30 at 11.00 with a musical performance Adventures in the Kingdom of Tastes music performed by well-known popular music soloists Māra Upmane-Holstein (Hercogiene Kūka), Elza Rozentāle (Biete), Normunds Rutulis (Čupa-Čups) and the group Ezeri. But who will be the king of the Kingdom of Tastes will be determined only during the musical performance itself.
